HYUNDAI GALLOPER II - Available end of February  2016

At this very moment, we are still travelling in our beloved Hyundai Galloper through the South of Chile and Argentina. We bought 'Manon' at the end of November 2015 after we found a local and reliable Chilean owner in Santiago. We specifically searched for this model after having done a 4x4 crashcourse for dummies. Here we learned what features to look for, including reliability off and onroad. We haven't regretted our choice for a single moment.

Manon has truely proven to be our most kick-ass trustworthy travel compagnion and hotel in one. The car includes a big passenger bench in the back and  a huge rear compartment that holds two extra foldable seats (turning it into a 4 to 7 seat van, or just a luxurious little tank for a travelling couple :).

And with a roof-tent that will convert into a comfortable 2-person tent with matrass and covers within 5 minutes, we've had the best hotel and conversation-piece on every camping.

We've tried to sum up all the most important details and features of the car in the factsheet (on the right) and we will post more detailed photos about the car, tent and camping gear later on. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions. We aim to be back in Santiago around the 22th of February. In the meantime we'd be happy to help out with grasping the whole process of obtaining the RUT and the car!

SERVICE HISTORY

He used the car mostly to drive with his family in the weekends or for an occasional roadtrip. When we bought the car a mechanic revised the car, changed the air and oil filters and the oil itself, and fixed/replaced some small things that were due to be replaced. The previous owners also made sure the car had brand new, all terrain tires (all 4, plus the spare tire).

Up to this point (end of January 2016) we've had very few problems with the car. On the road, we replaced the cruzets in Bariloche, after we heard a ticking sound. This prevented us from having serious problems later on. They replaced both cruzets (since it's a 4x4, it has two), although only one really needed replacement. And we repaired the starting engine after the car wouldn't start one morning (fortunately this only happened once while on a camping, we haven't had the problem since). The issue was resolved within a few hours. When we'll return in Santiago de Chile at the end of February, we estimate she'll have done around 270.000 kilometer (167.770 miles)
