ENJOY

When deep-diving into an epic adventure, you want to spend all your time, money and effort in enjoying the landscape, the people, the food, the experience.

You can't (and don't want to) avoid all riks, but you can take some easy steps to make it all a bit easier:

  • Buy a car: In a bus or by plane, might find yourself following the path you ' should'.  Fellow tourist can be really fun, but it is nice to be able to choose you own path now and than.

  • Buy a car in Chile: By far the easiest and cheapest country below the US to obtain one, and be legally able to leave the country.

  • Buy a 4x4: You will probably won't need it often, but roads aren't all that good and it will rain sometime. And than you definitely need it. Especially on the magnificent Carretera Austral  this might be a life saver.

  • Let us help you buy it. We spend quite some hours in figuring it out and at the notary. We are now pretty sure how it is done. We managed to buy ours within a week, including one day of striking officials. The only thing is, you need a Chilean person that will help you to obtain a RUT number (a kind of tax-number). He/she needs to come with you to a notary, and make a very modest document. With this you can become owner of  a Chilean (our) car. Ask around, in a hostel, hotel, Airbnb owner or friend. Chilean people tend to be very helpful, friendly and surpisingly willing to help you for free.

  • Be free: We will make an extra ontract with you (at the notary as well, we know a good one in Santiago de Chile), that permits you to leave the country with the vehicle.

  • Don't mess with cash. Don't travell with thousands of Dollars or millions of Pesos making you an easy target or uncomfortable. Getting a daily dosis of cash from the ATM's will take a lot of time and effort as well: preferably we will handle this by Paypal.

We know how to do this and experienced an awesome trip on an modest budget.
We gathered all necessary information so you don't have to. Just send us a message and we will get this started!

Hasta luego, Reinout & Sabine
